SIC membrane application in Marine Scrubber wastewater treatment

In accordance with the requirements of the Marpol Convention, the (IMO) of the International Maritime Organization implemented new strict standards on sulfur emissions from international shipping vessels in January 2020 -in the four major emission control areas of the Baltic Sea, North Sea, North America and the Caribbean Sea of the United States (ECA area), the sulfur content must not exceed 0.1%. Vessels must be equipped with equivalent systems that meet the emission requirements, otherwise non-compliant fuel loading is prohibited. The equivalent system here is that the vessel is equipped with a desulphurization system (water scrubber).

Compared with the use of low-sulfur fuel and clean fuel, the installation of water scrubber desulfurization, can continue to use high-sulfur fuel, through the system to deal with vessel Sox waste gas, with high desulfurization efficiency and strong equipment adaptability.

SIC membrane system has the following advantages as a device for scrubber wastewater system for desulphurization

1. Continuous IMO-compliance
2.Reduce the amount of sludge in the scrubber and the cost of treatment.
3. High precision membrane filtration technology with stable and durable effluent quality.
4. Modular system design for convenient and flexible installation.
5. Application technology that has been proved to be feasible by the market.
6. Silicon carbide membrane system also has application value in the treatment of vessel sewage and domestic sewage combined with other processes.

The raw material liquid is black, and a small amount of oily substance floats on the surface. After standing for a period of time, the solution is divided, a large number of black suspended matter precipitates to the bottom, the upper clear liquid becomes clear, and a large number of visible suspended matter are dispersed in the supernatant.
